FOUNDATION FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (FPD) IS A SOUTH AFRICAN PRIVATE INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION ESTABLISHED IN OCTOBER 1997 BY THE SOUTH AFRICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION.FPD WORKS PREDOMINANTLY IN AFRICA. THE VISION OF FPD IS TO BUILD A BETTER SOCIETY THROUGH EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT. THE MISSION OF FPD IS TO ENSURE THE AVAILABILITY OF SKILLED PROFESSIONALS, ALLIED WORKERS AND MANAGERS WHO WILL BE ABLE TO DELIVER A SERVICE TO THE PUBLIC THAT IS AFFORDABLE, EVIDENCE BASED AND CONGRUENT WITH INTERNATIONAL BEST PRACTICE.

Main Purpose of the Job: To coordinate the implementation of the Human Resource Alliance for Africa in South Africa.
Education/ Qualification/ Knowledge: Medical qualification or experience, Tertiary qualification in management/ business administration or suitable experience.
Minimum Working Experience Required: More than 2 years of managerial experience in the NGO/AID sector
Job Competencies/ Abilities/ Skills Required:
- Experience in Human Resources for Health and Human Capacity Building. Preferable experience within or with national health departments
- Demonstrated exceptional managerial and operational experience.
- Preferably experience in managing complex activities involving coordination with multiple government, donor and implementation partners
- Demonstrated technical skills in HR systems, human capacity development and HRIS
- Strong skills in increasing HR capacity and development of health and social welfare programmes
- Experience with the National HR health plans, policies and systems,
- Experience with health and social welfare pre-service education systems
- Knowledge of health professional regulatory bodies and associations and academic institutions
- Familiarity with the political, social, economic and cultural context of working in Pretoria is desirable
- Strong familiarity with PEPFAR and other USG initiatives
- Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills in English
- Successful applicants needs to have a good all round understanding of the above mentioned areas
