Checchi and Company Consulting, Inc., a Washington, DC-based firm, is looking for qualified South African candidates for the following position on a two-year USAID-funded project based in Johannesburg:
- Gender-based Violence/Criminal Justice Advisor

Successful candidates will implement a broad range of technical assistance, training, and institutional support to targeted partners, and will liaise with a variety of local and international stakeholders.
Qualifications:
1. A senior law degree from an accredited law school or an advanced degree in a related discipline;
2. Min 10 yrs of progressively more responsible work experience;
3. Subject matter expertise:
- Court Administration Advisor must demonstrate experience in assessing court needs; planning and managing judicial and legal training programs; guiding participatory reform and transition processes; and assessment and design of information technology systems for court management.
- Judicial Training Advisor must demonstrate experience in assessing training needs and providing substantive legal training. Familiarity with adult learning methods and curriculum design preferred.
- Gender-based Violence/Criminal Justice Advisor must demonstrate experience in international best practices, new developments in sexual offences legislation, statutes, research, and case management approaches.
4. Strong team leadership skills and ability to manage under complex and stressful conditions;
5. Demonstrated history of providing results on time and within budget;
6. Substantial managerial and technical experience with USAID or other donor-funded programs preferred;
7. Written and spoken English fluency required.
