Access Analyst, Haiti

Overview:


The Access Analyst role is a core role within the Haiti team. The team’s mandate is to collaborate with the Haitian Ministry of Health to strengthen and expand its HIV programs, to reduce program costs and optimize budgets, to support health system rebuilding and to strengthen human resources for health. The Haiti program has been responsible for assisting with HIV rapid testing and CD4 expansion, forecasting and budgeting for ARV purchases, and mapping systems and processes. These types of technical assistance activities are common across our Haiti programs. The Analyst will be responsible for supporting these aspects of the work, including maintaining relationships with ministry and other partners, conducting due diligence, identifying and implementing cost saving opportunities, and participating in program planning and identification of new opportunities.





An important aspect of this position is to be able to respond to current situations and circumstances. As Ministry priorities change, the Haiti Program must also reevaluate its program priorities and activities. The analyst will be required to work with government officials and implementing partners, candidates must have excellent communications skills and a high degree of self-confidence. He/she must be able to function independently and have a strong commitment to excellence. Location is Port au Prince; local travel may be required



Responsibilities:


The Access Analyst will work closely with other members of the Haiti Program and CHAI global teams, including but not limited to the laboratory service team, drug access team, value for money team and operations research team.





This work may require the analyst to:


* Meet and drive communication with Ministry of Health partners

* Collaborate with the government and partners to help write policies, grants, budgets, and work plans. Development of tools along with coaching and technical support in the launch of those tools may also be required.

* Developing process maps, identifying bottlenecks and problem solving

* Build quantitative models and drive analysis of demand/supply

* Building capacity among government staff and working to design and build government systems

* Be able to multi-task and be effective in high-pressure situations

* Drive work plans to completion and meet milestones with little daily supervision

* Be willing to change plans quickly and at short notice
